About
Who We Are
MOLLI’s List is a political action committee [PAC] that supports progressive pro-choice Democratic women running for election to state and local office in Missouri. We are committed to reproductive freedom and economic, educational and legal equality for all women. We will identify and recruit women across Missouri to run for office and we will provide financial, strategic, and political support to our endorsed candidates.
MOLLI’s List is proud to be the successor organization to Harriett’s List. It is our goal to be as successful in both raising dollars for and successfully supporting progressive women for state elective office in 2012 and beyond.

“MOLLI’s List” PAC launched to increase the number of progressive Democratic women in statewide and state legislative offices
St. Louis, MO… MOLLI’s List, a political action committee, has been launched for the 2012 campaign season with a mission of supporting progressive pro-choice Democratic women for elective office.
MOLLI’s List is the successor organization to Harriett’s List and continues the mission of electing women to office who share the values of Harriett Woods, the first women elected to statewide office in Missouri and former national president of the National Women’s Political Caucus.
The name is an acronym for Missouri Ladies’ Legislative Initiative, and harkens to indomitable Missouri women like Hannibal native Margaret Brown, a suffragist who survived the sinking of the Titanic and became known as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”
“We support progressive women for state elective office and beyond,” said Nancy Cross, chair of the board. She said the group is carrying on the legacy of Harriett Woods, and that many of the contributors to MOLLI’s List got their start in politics by working on Harriett’s campaigns.
“The percentage of women in the legislature is far lower than our representation in the population, and the number of progressive representatives is even lower,” Cross added. “Women need candidates who have walked in their shoes and understand that women’s rights is a bread and butter issue.”
She said the group is looking for candidates with significant leadership potential who support a progressive agenda that is pro-choice, pro-working people, pro-education environment and health care, and who support women’s right to be represented fully in the Constitution.
Cross said the group would focus its resources selectively on candidates with greatest potential to drive change.
“We are committed to reproductive freedom and economic, educational and legal equality for all women. We will identify and recruit women across Missouri to run for office and we will provide financial, strategic, and political support to our endorsed candidates,” she added.
MOLLI’s List is governed by a Board of Directors, and advised by a group of community leaders, some of who have held elective office.
